Job Location:

Nashville, TN (on site role) – near the Nashville International Airport

Compensation:

$23.00/hr. There may be occasional overtime in this role, and any OT is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

  • No PTO when on contract (but there would be significant PTO in going direct hire). Unpaid time off is permitted.

Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a global leader in designing, building, and integrating custom automation systems – from robotics and material-handling to full manufacturing and warehouse solutions. We are seeking a Material and Logistics Coordinator to support on-site operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient material handling and logistics coordination across the facility. The position supports receiving, shipping, material flow, documentation accuracy, and collaboration across teams including Purchasing, Engineering, Build Teams, and Supply Chain. The Material and Logistics Coordinator serves as a critical on-site resource, helping maintain operational efficiency and supporting project timelines through strong communication and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Shipping and Receiving

  • Perform all tasks safely and follow company safety standards at all times.
  • Validate incoming shipments to ensure supplier paperwork matches physical materials and purchase orders.
  • Verify quantities received against purchase orders, packing lists, and related documentation.
  • Resolve discrepancies in coordination with the Purchasing team.
  • Engage Build Team and Engineering for Quality Control review of incoming materials when needed.
  • Perform material check-in processes to confirm delivery to internal teams.
  • Load and unload machinery, equipment, and materials from trucks and trailers.

Shipping Coordination

  • Schedule pickups and deliveries for LTL freight and small parcel shipments (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
  • Follow all client shipping guidelines including routing and packaging requirements.
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, tracking updates, and exceptions proactively.
  • Coordinate with carriers and internal teams to improve material flow and logistics efficiency.

Material Flow and Inventory Support

  • Deliver materials to job shelves to support production and build teams.
  • Stage skids and bulk materials based on line-side and point-of-use stocking programs.
  • Support organization of material storage areas throughout the facility.
  • Assist with returns to suppliers for credit or replacement.

Documentation and Administrative Duties

  • Ensure purchasing, receiving, and accounting documentation is accurate and properly filed.
  • Process problem invoices through the Enlighten platform.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, carriers, and vendors.
  • Provide a professional on-site presence and communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a business environment.
  • Experience in logistics, material management, or supply chain preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while following direction.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts.
  • Ability to obtain a Hi-Lo (forklift) and Overhead Crane license (training provided). 

Work Environment / Other Info:

  • 1st (day) shift role.
  • This role will be a minimum of 40 hours per week, but there will be occasional overtime. Candidates must be flexible to work OT as required. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
  • Offer may be contingent on a background check and a drug screening. Drug screen would include testing for cannabis. There would be no exceptions to the drug screening (eg: for individuals with a medical marijuana card).
