It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into the last stretch of summer.
August always seems to bring a mix of energy. Some teams are starting to ramp things back up—re-engaging projects, revisiting hiring plans, and preparing for a busy fall. Others are still in that final push to squeeze in a bit more downtime before schedules fill up again.
And honestly, both are valid.
This time of year tends to sit right in between. Not quite the slower pace of early summer, but not fully back into the intensity that fall often brings. That’s what makes August such a unique (and important) moment to reset.
Because whether things are picking up or slowing down for you right now, taking even a small step back can make a big difference.
In hiring especially, it’s easy to stay in constant motion—filling roles, managing interviews, juggling priorities. But without a pause to reflect, processes can get messy, communication can slip, and opportunities can be missed.
A quick reset doesn’t have to be anything major. It could be as simple as checking in on your current openings, realigning on priorities, or tightening up areas of your process that may have drifted over the past few months.
It’s also a great time to reconnect—with candidates, with your internal team, and even with your longer-term hiring goals. A little bit of clarity now can set you up for a much smoother, more effective push heading into the fall.
And just as important as the work itself is giving yourself space to recharge.
Even a short break, a long weekend, or a few unplugged moments can go a long way in helping you come back more focused and energized. The pace will pick up soon enough—August gives you a chance to catch your breath before it does.
Wherever you’re at right now—busy, slowing down, or somewhere in between—we hope you’re able to enjoy what’s left of the season.
We appreciate everything you do and the impact you have day in and day out.
And if there’s anything we can help with as things start to pick back up, don’t hesitate to reach out!
